✍️ After Chungju FC disbanded due to financial issues in 2024, the remaining staff and players moved their home way upwards to Yeoncheon Public Stadium, just a 15-minute walk away from South Korea's northernmost metro station.
A big chunk of the audience were players and families of a local youth club, those kids were bouncing around everywhere with their Brighton-esque kit. After the end of a thrilling 2-1 comeback in the 80th minutes, they went down to the pitch to celebrate with the players.

There was also a heartfelt goodbye and a group photo for one of their players Park Joon-yong, as he was about to move to Yangpyeong FC in the 3rd tier. (He's the one holding a flower basket in the 4th photo: Interestingly, he somehow played for Czech second tier 1. FK PΕ™Γbram's reserves for half a season last year) It was nice to see the club so connected with the local community despite just being their very first season here. The stadium announcer lady had such an enthusiastic voice too!

The few vocal supporters at the away end weren't the nicest bunch, complaining about time wasting when their opponent was clearly about to be stretchered off. Admirable effort to follow their reserves on a Sunday 5PM to a stadium 288km away from their own grounds regardless. And after that, when a Yeoncheon player got 2 yellows in the final 2 minutes he proceeded to walk off the pitch as slowly as he could. Well that's a sight only in the lower leagues I guess. πŸ˜…
