[Groundhopping] Daejeon Hana Citizen & Daejeon Korail

Here's a record of my 2 Daejeon visits in the last 2 weeks:

🚝🐲 Daejeon Korail vs Yangpyeong FC
⚔️ 1-0
🏆 K3 League, matchweek 14
🏟️ Daejeon World Cup Secondary Stadium
🗓️ 2025-06-22
🕖 19:00
🎟️ Gratis!
👥 94

✍️ This is Daejeon Korail FC, Korea's oldest football club. It was founded in 1943 under the Japanese colonial government's railway department. It's now run by the national railway operator Korail, which also serves the high-speed trains that I take to Daejeon. So it's kinda like the 'Lokomotive' clubs in former Soviet countries?

This was my very first time venturing into semi-professional football territory, I've only seen grounds like this on the Internet posted by groundhoppers. The walk across the huge empty main stadium to the secondary one, the brilliant floodlights, the crowd less than a hundred cheering the whole 90 minutes, the half a dozen away fans provoking the home fans... So *this* is what you guys were enjoying on weekends? I say it's pretty good, I'd like to try more someday...

🟪🏝️ Daejeon Hana Citizen vs Jeju SK
⚔️ 1-1
🏆 K3 League, matchweek 21
🏟️ Daejeon World Cup Stadium
🗓️ 2025-06-27
🕢 19:30
🎟️ 14000 KRW
👥 7097

✍️ I dunno how much enmity away fans are treated with in Europe over there, but these guys were pretty nice. The camera showed the away end with the message 'welcome away fans' and all the supporters gave a big applause(2nd pic). Those Jeju fans have some serious dedication for sure, being the only island-based club in the entire Korean professional sports scene.

Despite Latvia's striker Vladislavs 'Gutek' Gutkovskis getting sent off in the first half, Daejeon were leading until the very last minute. Referee won't blow the whistle, the crowd chants 'TURN OFF THE LIGHTS REF', Jeju scores the equaliser, 'STUPID REF, STUPID REF'... still, the Jeju players also got a big applause in the end.

Also Daejeon's mascot 'Kumdori' is too cute, it's from Daejeon Expo 1993 but now with arms (also spotted in the stands)
